Ingredients
1 package Nilla wafers
3 ripe bananas
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 egg yolks
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually stir in milk and cook over medium heat until thickened.
In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and add a little of the hot mixture to temper them. Then pour the yolk mixture back into the saucepan.
Stir in vanilla extract and remove from heat.
In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Fold whipped cream into the pudding mixture until combined.
Layer Nilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding in a pie dish, repeating the layers until filled.
Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
