1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup molasses
1 large egg
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
In another bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in the molasses and egg until well combined.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the centers are soft.
Allow cookies to cool before glazing.
For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth, then drizzle over the cookies.
Notes
