Gordon Ramsay’s Scalloped Potatoes

  • 2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes
  • 8 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and chop into pieces.
  3. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme. Heat gently.
  4. Slice the potatoes thinly and layer half in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with half the cheeses and half the bacon.
  5. Pour half the cream mixture over the layers. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cheeses, and bacon.
  6. Finish with the remaining cream on top, and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden.

Notes

  • Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving to allow it to set.
  • For more flavor, add chopped onions in between layers.
