A warm and cozy dessert that combines the sweetness of apples with the comforting flavors of cinnamon and sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples.
  7. Pour batter into a greased cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over the cake once cooled.
