GINGERBREAD FRENCH TOAST BAKE

A delicious and festive dish perfect for holiday mornings.

  • 1 loaf gingerbread bread
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Cut the gingerbread bread into cubes and spread evenly in the dish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes.
  6. Let it soak for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown and set.
  8. Serve warm with syrup or whipped cream.
