Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add the egg and molasses, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Roll the dough into balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
