Crock Pot Birra Tacos Recipe

A delicious and easy slow-cooked birra taco recipe that brings the flavors of Mexico to your home.

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (12 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the beef roast with salt, pepper, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Sear the beef on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Transfer the beef to the Crock Pot. Add beef broth and diced tomatoes.
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the beef is tender.
  5. Remove the beef, shred it with two forks, and return it to the pot. Stir to combine with the juices.
  6. Warm the corn tortillas and fill them with the birra. Top with cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding some chili powder to the spice mix.
