Classic Tiramisù: An Indulgent Twist on a Beloved Favorite

Classic Tiramisù

A classic Italian dessert that combines espresso-soaked ladyfingers with a rich mascarpone cream.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
  2. Gently fold in the mascarpone until no lumps remain.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks and fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Combine espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  5. Dip ladyfingers quickly into the espresso mixture and lay in a baking dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers.
  7. Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For a more indulgent flavor, you can add a splash of vanilla extract to the mascarpone mixture.
  • Try using different liqueurs for variation.
